    Yum, yum...

In 1897, a demon fell in love with a woman. His tears for their tragedy brought a bed to life, and that bed is hungry. So it goes in this darkly comic phantasmagoria, where the ghost of artist Aubrey Beardsley narrates the bed’s reign of bloody terror from behind a painting.

Appropriately for a film that languished in bootleg obscurity for decades, Death Bed feels like a long lost thing floating in from the sea. It’s horror poetry, slipping woozily between the absurd and horrific in reverence for the iconic bed that eats apples, champagne, and people.
